On Gaithers and Grandparents

There's something very touching about playing cards with the grandparents while listening to Bill Gaither sing "We Have This Moment" in the background. I felt like my heart was weeping tears of joy AND saddness. Later, as the grandmas talked about the difficulties of the winter, thanked each other for their mutual love and support and said goodbye, my tears flowed freely in the beauty and sorrow of the moment.

We have this moment to hold in our hands
And to touch as it slips through our fingers like sand
Yesterday's gone and tomorrow may never come
But we have this moment, today.

Tender words gentle touch and a good cup of coffee
And someone who loves me and wants me to stay
Hold them dear while they’re near don’t wait for tomorrow
To look back and wish for today.
